Bowl Season Expert Predictions for January 1

ESPN

Game Mark Schlabach
Outback Bowl

Citrus Bowl

Tennessee, 23-17

Michigan 24-20

[sc:NCAA240banner ] ESPN’s Mark Schlabach likes Tennessee over Northwestern, but not by too much. Tennessee is currently -8 point favorites in this one. He likes them for the win, but not Against The Spread. As for the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl, he’s siding with Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines. The Blue and Yellow are currently -4.5 favorites, so again he likes them for the win but not the spread.

Athlon Sports

Game Steven Lassan
Fiesta Bowl

Rose Bowl

Ohio State – Win

Stanford – Win

Meanwhile at Athlon Sports, Steven Lassan likes the Buckeyes and Cardinal to walk away with wins on New Year’s Day. Ohio State is currently favored by -6.5. He’s calling for an outright win, but when it comes down to it, the Buckeyes are the better team and can cover that spread and then some. As for Stanford, their tilt with Iowa is a little more evenly matched. With one less win, Stanford is still ranked ahead of Iowa. Lassan likes the Cardinal, but this one is a toss up.

Bleacher Report

Game Ryan McCrystal
Sugar Bowl Oklahoma State – ATS

Ryan McCrystal of Bleacher Report like the Oklahoma State Cowboys over the Ole Miss Rebels ATS. OK-State is currently a +7.5 underdog, so this one isn’t too surprising. The Cowboys come into this game riding a two-game losing streak. Prior to that though, the team was scorching the competition and even had aspirations of a playoff-bowl game. After rough losses to Baylor and Oklahoma though, it’s not a shocker the team comes in sporting a big spread.
