No. 5 South – Maryland Terrapins (Overall: 24-7, Conf: 12-6)
Team Strengths:
The inside-outside tandem of Melo Trimble and Diamond Stone is going to be quite a handful for any Maryland opponents.Trimble, regarded as one of the best guards in the nation, is an all-around mini-machine, as he’s averaging 14.4 points. 3.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Stone, on the other hand, is a force to reckon with down low with the freshman center putting up 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks on the season.
The Terrapins are also among the best scorers inside the paint with a 73.9 percentage on shots at the rim per hoop-math. They rank just 106th in points (75.3 PPG), but their effective field goal percentage (55.6%) is 13th overall.

Team Weaknesses:
Maryland doesn’t have many glaring weaknesses, but a closer look at some of the Terps’ losses reveal one hole in their game: bench scoring. In Maryland’s loss to Indiana on March 6, the Terps’ relievers managed to put up just six points. When they lost to Minnesota on February 18, only Michal Cekovsky scored off the bench and that’s just two points. In another loss, this time to Wisconsin on February 13, Maryland’s shock troopers combined for a measly four points, all coming from Jaylen Brantley.
