Hopefully for the Cardinals, an extra week of rest, thanks to a bye in Week 12, is enough for quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to be ready for Week 13’s matchup against Chicago Bears. But even if they continue to sit out, it seems that Arizona is capable of beating a struggling Chicago team. The last time the Cardinals were on the field, Colt McCoy led them to a 23-13 win on the road over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11. McCoy went 35/44 for 328 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions. Plus, the Cards still have James Conner taking over in the ground attack while Chase Edmonds continues to recover. Conner had 62 rushing yards and a touchdown on 21 carries against Seattle and 37 receiving yards on five catches. Arizona’s main backups on offense play more cohesive football than the starters of the Detroit Lions who gave Chicago trouble in Week 12.
The Cardinals are 4-1 against the spread versus a team with a losing record.
Betting on the Chicago Bears (+7)
Regular Season Record: 4-7
Justin Fields missed Week 12’s Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions on the road, but veteran quarterback Andy Dalton willed the offense to snatch a 16-14 victory over their NFC North rivals. Fields is still nursing a rib injury and it’s very possible that he will need more time on the sidelines to heal up. Dalton showed he can handle the offense in the win against the Lions, and at this point, even if Fields is healthy, there is a case to be made that Chicago is much better with him under center than the rookie out of Ohio State. Wide receiver Darnell Mooney exploded for 123 receiving yards on five receptions and eight targets against the Lions, while tight end Cole Kmet had 65 receiving yards on eight catches. Dalton knows how to spread the wealth to his receivers.
The under is 8-2 in the Bears’ last 10 games overall.
