Betting on the Detroit Lions (+2.5)
Regular Season Record: 2-6
The Lions’ defense stepped up big time in Week 9, and no one had a more impressive defensive performance for Detroit than rookie safety Kerby Joseph. The third-rounder had two of the Lions’ three interceptions off of Rodgers in Week 9. Coming off a breakout performance like that against a future Hall of Famer, expect Joseph to be a disruptive force downfield again in Week 10 against the Bears, whose quarterback, Justin Fields, is extremely prone to making errors. As for their offense, the Lions entered the Green Bay game with an average of 24.7 points per outing – top 10 in the league.
The Lions are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games versus fellow NFC North teams.
Betting on the Chicago Bears (-2.5)
Regular Season Record: 3-6
Chicago’s defense is getting in the way of the team. Justin Fields has played exceptionally well over the last two games, but both were losses, as mentioned earlier. That being said, if this upcoming game against Detroit is going to be a high-scoring affair, Fields is going to be ready with his weapons. Detroit showed signs of life defensively against the Packers, but the Lions will have to still be consistent before it can gain respect. Fields is ready to expose Detroit’s defense after coming up with five passing touchdowns against zero interceptions in his last two starts.
The Bears are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bears win, 28-24.
