Eduardo Rodriguez will make his season debut later tonight when he takes the mound in Game 2 of the Boston-Baltimore series. Rodriguez, who is coming off the disabled list, went 10-6 with a 3.85 ERA in 21 starts last season.
The Orioles, meanwhile, will have Kevin Gausman toeing the slab. Gausman is winless in seven starts but owns a respectable 3.24 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. The Red Sox are 4-1 in Rodriguez’s last five starts overall. Baltimore is 6-4 in Gausman’s last 10 starts at Camden Yards.
Writer’s Prediction
Baltimore wins, 4-3.
Detroit Tigers vs. Los Angeles Angels (10:05 PM ET)
Line: Detroit Tigers vs. Los Angeles Angels – view all MLB lines
The Tigers are coming off a 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Halos on Tuesday, thus extending their losing streak to three games. Detroit will look to arrest that skid when they give the ball to Anibal Sanchez (3-6, 6.04 ERA). Detroit’s hitters will face Hector Santiago of the Angels.
Santiago is 3-3 with a 4.58 ERA in 10 starts this year. He’s having a rough month, though, going 1-2 with 6.35 ERA. The Tigers are 5-0 in Sanchez’s previous five starts after he registered a Quality Start in a prior starting gig. The Angels are 4-0 in their last four games against American League Central clubs.
Writer’s Prediction
Detroit wins, 7-4.
