NBA News & Predictions

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics (7:30 PM ET)

Line: Philadelphia 76ers (+12.5) at Boston Celtics (-12.5); total: 213.0 – view all NBA lines

The Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to two games with a 115-104 victory over the Utah Jazz Monday night. Isaiah Thomas scored 29 points and dished out a career-high 15 assists for the Celtics who have now won four of their last five games. With the victory, the Celtics moved to within 2.5 games of leaders Toronto in the Atlantic Division standings.

They will look to sustain the momentum of that huge win when they lock horns with the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. The Sixers will also enter this clash with a two-game unbeaten run after beating Minnesota, 93-91, on Tuesday night. Joel Embiid top scored for Philadelphia in that contest with 25 points. The rookie center has been on fire of late, averaging 24 points and nine rebounds over his last six games. Embiid’s questionable, however, for tonight’s clash after missing Thursday’s practice with a flu bug.

The Celtics are 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 home games against the Sixers.

Writer’s Prediction

Boston (-12.5) wins, 103-97.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors (10:30 PM ET)

Line: Memphis Grizzlies (+13) at Golden State Warriors (-13); total: 214.5 – view all NBA lines

The Golden State Warriors extended their winning streak to four games with a thrilling 125-117 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night. Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant combined for 65 points for the Warriors, who improved to 16-2 at home this season. Key to the Warriors’ blistering start has been their superb offensive play. They lead the league in scoring, averaging a whopping 117.5 points per game this season.

They will look to continue their excellent home form when they lock horns with the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. Steve Kerr’s men will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have fared extremely well against the Grizzlies at Oracle Arena of late. The Warriors have won six of their last seven home meetings with the Grizzlies. Memphis is coming off a 115-106 loss to the LA Clippers on Wednesday. It was a disappointing defeat for the Grizzlies who squandered a 12-point third-quarter advantage against the injury-plagued Clippers.

The Warriors are 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games against the Grizzlies.

Writer’s Prediction

Golden State (-13) not only wins but also covers the spread against Memphis.
