Line: Green Bay Packers (+1) at Minnesota Vikings (-1); total 44.5 – view all NFL lines
[sc:NFL240banner ]The struggling Packers have lost three games in a row, with the offense averaging just 18.3 points per game in those losses. Meanwhile, star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is dealing with an injury to his throwing shoulder. Those aren’t very good signs ahead of their pivotal clash with the red-hot Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikes have gone 5-0 in their last five games – and 8-0 ATS in their last eight – to take control of the NFC North. Star running back Adrian Peterson had a season-high 203 rushing yards in their latest win over Oakland. The Vikings defense also starred, limiting the Raiders to just 14 points. Minnesota is giving up just 17.1 points per game, second-best in the NFL.
Writer’s Prediction
The Vikings (-1) edge out the 24-21 win.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Arizona Cardinals (8:30 PM ET)
Line: Cincinnati Bengals (+4.5) at Arizona Cardinals (-4.5); total 48.5 – view all NFL lines
The Cincinnati Bengals lost their unbeaten record on Thursday night as they were upset, 10-6, by the Houston Texans. The entire Bengals offense was bogged down, and spoiled another solid effort from the defense. Cincy is allowing just 16.9 points per game, the fewest in the NFL.
That defense will face a very big test, though, against a Cardinals offense that’s a single point behind the Patriots for the most points scored in the NFL this season. The Cards just put up 39 points on the road against the Seahawks, and should be much deadlier back home in the desert. The Cards are 16-3 in their last 19 regular season home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cardinals (-4.5) win and cover, 28-21.
