[sc:MultiSportArticles ]New Orleans Pelicans vs. Sacramento Kings (10:00 PM ET)
Line: New Orleans (+2.5) at Sacramento Kings (-2.5); total 200.5 – view these lines
Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with team-highs of 31 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and three steals, but couldn’t hold a 16-point third-quarter lead in a 102-93 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers Monday night. The Pelicans were outscored 34-13 in the final quarter as Portland rallied for the late win.
[sc:NBA240banner ]New Orleans will have to get over that tough loss in a hurry as they hightail it over to Sacramento in the second half of a back-to-back to meet the deadly combination of Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings’ duo was phenomenal in a 94-91 win against the Spurs on Saturday as Gay put up 18 points while Cousins dominated the paint with 25 points on 10 of 19 shooting.
Writer’s Prediction
The Kings are well-rested and confident enough after defeating the defending champions. The Kings win and cover -2.5 comfortably at home.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Montreal Canadiens (7:30 PM ET)
Line: Pittsburgh Penguins (-115) at Montreal Canadiens (-105); total 5.0 – view these lines
Penguins star center Sidney Crosby is in a scoring drought. He hasn’t netted a goal in eight-straight games, but has 11 asssits to make up for it. Evgeni Malkin has helped pick up the scoring slack after picking up his seventh goal and 12th assist in a 3-2 shootout victory over the Rangers on Saturday. The Pens will need to bring their high-scoring tendencies with them when they meet the Atlantic Division-leading Montreal Canadiens at Bell Center tonight.
The Canadiens are on an impressive six-game winning streak due to some excellent defensive displays. They’ve allowed one goal or less in five games during their run. However, Montreal’s No. 1 netminder Carey Price’s (11-3-1) 3.03 goals-against average versus the Penguins is his second-worst mark against teams he’s faced at least seven times.
The Canadiens have won their last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Canadiens have been impressive at home. I like the Canadiens at -105.
