The Atlantic Division-leading Montreal Canadiens haven’t looked like Stanley Cup contenders of late, having lost a string of games before winning one against Ottawa on Saturday. The Habs will look to build on that win later tonight when they host the skidding San Jose Sharks.
Over at the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics meet in a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference first round matchup. Read more on tonight’s two exciting games below.

Line: San Jose Sharks vs. Montreal Canadiens – view all NHL lines
[sc:NHL240 ]After a hot start to the season in which they went 13-8 in their first 21 games, the Sharks have gone on a major tailspin, as they’ve won just once in eight games since November 28. That stretch includes San Jose’s 2-0 loss to Minnesota on Saturday.
The Sharks, who are 18th in the league in scoring (2.6 goals per game) and 18th in goals against (2.7), will now start a five-game road trip, beginning in Montreal, where they are just 1-5 in their last six games there. That said, the Sharks are 4-1 in the last five meetings with the Habs overall. Montreal hasn’t looked great either of late.
The Canadiens prevented a five-game skid on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Ottawa, but they need more wins to gain new momentum. The Canadiens are third in the league with 3.2 goals per game and fourth with 2.2 goals allowed per contest. The under is 3-1 in Montreal’s last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Montreal wins, 3-2.
