Miami Heat vs. Washington Wizards (7:00 PM ET)
Line: Miami Heat vs. Washington Wizards – view all NBA lines
The Washington Wizards will head to their showdown with the Miami Heat with momentum on their side after beating the New York Knicks in thrilling fashion Sunday. Bradley Beal scored 25 points, including a late tiebreaking 3 to help the Wizards record their second straight victory. Beal has been a vital cog in Washington’s success this season, averaging 23.1 points and 3.5 assists per game this campaign.
The Wizards will need more of the same from Beal if they are to beat the Heat tonight. The Wizards are locked in a tight battle with the Raptors for third place in the Eastern Conference. The Heat, on the other hand, are in a dogfight with the Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers for the final two playoff spots in the East. Miami leads the season series against Washington, 2-0. The Heat are averaging 113 points in their two meetings with the Wizards this season.
The Wizards are 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 home games against the Heat.
Writer’s Prediction
Washington edges past Miami, 98-93.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Golden State Warriors (10:30 PM ET)
Line: New Orleans Pelicans vs. Golden State Warriors – view all NBA lines
After a two-month absence, Kevin Durant finally makes his much-anticipated return to the Warriors lineup when they lock horns with the Pelicans tonight. It would be interesting to see how the Warriors’ chemistry will be affected by Durant’s return as Golden State is playing some excellent basketball right now. The Warriors are in the midst of a 13-game unbeaten run, their longest of the season.
Durant’s return is timely, though, with the playoffs just around the corner. The Warriors will also need Durant’s offense in this ballgame as Stephen Curry is a major doubt for tonight’s clash due to a left knee contusion. Curry has stepped up big time in Durant’s absence, scoring at least 20 points in 16 of the last 19 games he has played in, including seven of the past eight. Even without Curry, the Warriors will still fancy their chances against the Pelicans. Golden State has won each of its last 10 meetings with New Orleans. The Pelicans can take comfort in the fact, however, that they have covered the spread in each of their last three games with the Warriors.
The Warriors are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 home games against the Pelicans.
Writer’s Prediction
Golden State wins and covers.
