Meanwhile, the Athletics have not lost more than three-consecutive games in September as they’ve floundered just slowly enough to hold onto an AL Wildcard slot.
Yet, they’ll need starter Scott Kazmir to pitch a gem if they are to come out with a win tonight. Kazmir is winless in his last six starts and was hammered by Philadelphia for six earned runs on September 21.
