Bay Area is going to be lit with baseball action tonight with a showdown between the Oakland Athletics and the San Francisco Giants. Both teams aren’t going to make the postseason though so perhaps a match between two more competitive squads in the Detroit Tigers and the Baltimore Orioles would balance out our picks for today’s best games to bet on.

Detroit Tigers vs. Baltimore Orioles (7:05 PM ET)
Matthew Boyd (5-5, 5.30 ERA) has been some sort of lucky charm for the Tigers lately, as the team is 3-0 in his last three starts. The lefty was great in handling the bats of the Houston Astros on Jul. 29, when he allowed just three earned runs on eight hits in 7.1 innings of a 5-4 home win. As for the Orioles, they’ll have Kevin Gausman (8-7, 5.37 ERA) on the mound. Gausman has held opposing batters in his last two outings, wherein he’s allowed zero runs on 12 hits across 14.2 total innings of action.
Detroit (+116) wins, 4-3.
Oakland Athletics vs. San Francisco Giants (10:15 PM ET)
Kendall Graveman makes his way back to the mound later tonight following a two-month absence due to a shoulder injury. Before landing on the disabled list, Graveman went 2-2 with a 3.83 ERA in eight starts. The A’s are 4-4 in Graveman’s last eight starts overall. The Giants, on the other hand, will give the ball to Ty Black, who’s searching for his first win of the month. He was fantastic in his last start, albeit in a 2-1 road loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in which he yielded just two earned runs on seven hits in seven innings on the mound last Jul. 29th.
San Francisco Giants (-127) takes care of the A’s with a 3-2 win.
