[sc:NCAAB240banner ]The No. 2 Virginia Cavaliers suffered their first loss of the season, 69-63, to the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday. They won’t have much time to dwell on their loss as they take on another ranked team in North Carolina. Virginia has won two of the past three matchups. The Cavaliers’ top two scorers in Malcolm Brogdon and Justin Anderson had 16 and 17 points respectively in the last matchup in January 2014.
Still, the Tar Heels have long been a thorn on Virginia’s side. North Carolina has won 65 of 71 all-time home games against Virginia.
Writer’s Prediction
The Tar Heels (pk) give Virginia its second loss of the season.
Atlanta Hawks vs. New Orleans Pelicans (8:00 PM ET)
Line: Atlanta Hawks at New Orleans Pelicans – view these lines
The Atlanta Hawks (40-8) enter tonight’s game as owners of the best league in the NBA and have won 19 straight. They’re also the first team in the league to go 17-0 within a calendar month.
Maintaining that streak will be difficult, especially when they go against a New Orleans team that should get Anthony Davis back in the starting lineup after the All-Star big man missed a game due to a groin strain. Davis has recorded double-doubles in his last four appearances and leads the league with 2.9 blocks per game.
Writer’s Prediction
The Hawks extend their streak to 20, but Davis powers New Orleans to cover. Create a betting account now and get in on the best games to bet on each day.
