Sacramento Kings vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (7:00 PM ET)
Line: Sacramento Kings (+11) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (-11); total: 214.0 – view all NBA lines
The Cavs look susceptible right now. They head to this game as losers of back-to-back games and five of their previous seven. Their most recent loss came against an Anthony Davis-less Pelicans team on Monday night, a game in which jaw-dropping performances from Kyrie Irving (49 points) , LeBron James (26 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists) and Kevin Love (22 points, 16 rebounds) were astonishingly not enough to get the W. Their lackluster defense prevented that, as the Cavs are conceding 117.7 points in their past four games. They should find themselves in the midst of another upset against the Kings, who are coming off a 109-104 win against Detroit, if their defense stays the same.
Cleveland bested the Kings for the fifth-straight time in the first meeting this season at Sacramento, 120-108. The Cavs are also 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games in this matchup.
Writer’s Prediction
Cleveland (-11) wins and covers.
Houston Rockets vs. Boston Celtics (7:30 PM ET)
Line: Houston Rockets (-2.5) vs. Boston Celtics (+2.5); total: 231.0 – view all NBA lines
A mere point separated these two teams in the first meeting this season back in Houston. The Rockets won that game with James Harden finishing with 37 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Isaiah Thomas, meanwhile, only had 20 points and had rough shooting night. But he’s been on a tear since the start of the New Year, averaging more than 30 points and five assists through 10 games. Boston, however, has dropped its last three games, during which the C’s defense has given up 117 points or more in each match. The Rockets, too, are on a slump, losing five of their last eight. Both teams are sure to come out hungry for a win, and thus, this should be a tight contest all throughout.
Writer’s Prediction
Boston (+2.5) wins, 110-105.
