Los Angeles Clippers vs. New Orleans Pelicans (8:00 PM ET)

Line: Los Angeles Clippers (TBA) vs. New Orleans Pelicans (TBA) – view all NBA lines

The New Orleans Pelicans extended their winning streak to two games with a 111-104 victory over the Dallas Mavericks Monday night. Anthony Davis scored 28 points and grabbed 16 boards for the Pelicans who have now won three of their last four games. Even with their poor start this season, the Pelicans sit just three games behind the Sacramento Kings for the last playoff spot in the West.

They will look to sustain the momentum of that huge win when they lock horns with the LA Clippers tonight. The Clips are in the midst of a three-game tailspin after absorbing a heart-breaking 106-102 loss to Denver on Monday. Not helping the Clips’ cause is their growing injury situation. J.J. Redick and Chris Paul joined Blake Griffin on the sidelines after suffering hamstring injuries. They are both questionable for tonight’s clash against New Orleans. With three of their key stars possibly out for this crunch showdown, the onus is on Jamal Crawford to carry the scoring cudgels for LA. He scored 24 points and dished out six assists in the loss to Denver.

Writer’s Prediction

New Orleans cruise to a 106-95 win.

Phoenix Suns vs. San Antonio Spurs (8:30 PM ET)

Line: Phoenix Suns (+14.5) at San Antonio Spurs (-14.5); total: 213.5 – view all NBA lines

The San Antonio Spurs stretched their unbeaten run to two games with a commanding 119-100 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Christmas Day. LaMarcus Aldridge scored a season-high 33 points for the Spurs who moved to within a game of the Golden State Warriors for the top spot in the Western Conference standings. The Spurs have now won seven of their last eight games.

Up next for the surging Spurs is a clash with the Phoenix Suns. The Suns’ downward spiral continued on Monday with a demoralizing 131-115 loss to the Houston Rockets. It was a disappointing defeat for the Suns who have now lost five of their last six games. It won’t get any easier for them against the Spurs who have won each of their last eight meetings dating back to Halloween night of 2014. San Antonio thrashed Phoenix, 107-92, in their first meeting this season with five Spurs players scoring in double figures in that contest.

The Spurs are 9-1 in their last 10 home games against the Suns.

Writer’s Prediction

San Antonio (-14.5) eases past Phoenix, 113-97.
