The No. 2 Duke Blue Devils are the best team in the ACC right now with a stranglehold on NCAA Futures for their conference while the Boston College Eagles are one of the league’s worst. Both teams will share the court on Tuesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium, with the Eagles seeking to deliver an earth-shaking upset victory over the highly favored boys in blue. As for Duke, Zion Williamson and company will look to extend their current winning streak.

Betting on the Boston College Eagles (11-9 Overall / 2-6 Conference)
The Eagles are clearly the underdog on Tuesday in Durham, as they are just 11-9 on the season and 2-6 in conference play. They absorbed a pair of losses in their last two games, including a 79-73 loss at home to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish last Saturday. As bad as their season has gone so far, the Eagles at least have showed evidence that they can bite back. That was largely the case in their upset 87-82 home win over the No. 11 Florida State Seminoles on Jan. 21. In that game, junior guard Ky Bowman exploded for 37 points on 13-for-18 shooting from the field. Bowman has been fantastic for Boston College this season, and the Eagles are going to need him to perform even better if they are going to survive a team like Duke on the road. Bowman, who scored 25 points and had 10 rebounds in the Notre Dame game, has averaged 22.2 points in Boston College’ last five games.
Boston College is averaging 74.1 points per game this season, and is 5-0 against the spread (ATS) in its last five road games.
Betting on the Duke Blue Devils (19-2 Overall / 7-1 Conference)
The Blue Devils continue to roll. They extended their winning streak to five games after dismantling the St. John’s Red Storm to the tune of a 91-61 score at home last Saturday. Monster freshman Zion Williamson, who should be playing in the NBA right now instead of toppling his fellow college athletes, dropped 29 points on an extremely efficient 13-for-17 shooting from the floor. Williamson is likely going to bully regardless of who the Eagles send his way to cover him, but it’s also Duke’s depth that’s expected to be a big problem for Boston College. Apart from Williamson, Duke also has NBA-bound players in RJ Barrett, Tre Jones, and Cam Reddish. In addition, Duke’s defense should be able to slow down Bowman. The Blue Devils are 34th in the nation with just 65.7 points per game and fourth overall in KenPom’s adjusted defensive efficiency.
When playing at home so far this season, the Blue Devils are 13-1 straight up (SU) and 8-6 against the spread (ATS). Also worth noting, is that Duke is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games against the Eagles.
Writer’s Prediction
Duke wins, 89-71.
