On the road, the Chicago Bears are currently 1-3 straight up and 2-2 against the spread. At home, the dominant Philadelphia Eagles have soared to a 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS record.
The Chicago Bears running game was back into full swing as they almost knocked off the Detroit Lions. Chicago would fall to the Lions by the score of 27-24 as it was a fun game to watch as the Bears are slowly getting better each week with rookie quarterback Mitch. Before we talk about the performance of the rookie quarterback, the running game was the only reason why Chicago stayed in this game until the final seconds.
Chicago had over 200 total rushing yards on the day as the duo combo of running backs Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen ran all over the Lions. Howard finished the day with 15 carries for 125 rushing yards along with a touchdown as Cohen had nine carries for 44 rushing yards with a touchdown as well.
Even quarterback Trubisky made throws when needed as he completed 18 of his 30 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown. Chicago is coming together quite nicely, in the offseason if they add some quality players on defense and a legit wide receiver, the Bears might be soon to be favorites in that division.
The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the most improved teams in the NFL as they head into Week 12 as early Super Bowl Favorites after the game against the Dallas Cowboys. I even took the Cowboys with the spread as it seemed impossible for the Eagles to keep up this hot streak, but this streak is for real and not leaving any time soon.
Coming off the bye in this game, Philadelphia did need a couple of quarters to get going as they started the 3rd quarter losing by three points. However the hot Eagles offense would score 30 unanswered points to destroy the Cowboys. Even though the Cowboys defense was horrible, they had plenty of opportunities to sack quarterback Carson Wentz but the 6 foot five beast of a man continued to impress the NFL fans.
Wentz finished the day with 168 passing yards and two touchdowns. Besides the improvement of the Eagles passing game, the running game ran over the Cowboys since the start of the game. Philadelphia had over 200 rushing yards as with new running back Jay Ajayi is making a huge impact on this new offense.
Writer’s Prediction:
I doubted the Eagles once with a six point spread and they took that personal. All jokes aside there is no way the Bears will be able to come close to this Eagles team. The Eagles are the best team in the NFL. Pick: Philadelphia (-13.5)
