Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (odds)
Regular Season Record: 1-0
Even if it’s just a preseason game, the Bengals must have felt good after they defeated the reigning Super Bowl champions in Week 1 of the preseason to the tune of a 19-14 score. The Bengals, playing without QB1 Joe Burrow, had to rely more on their defense to edge the Bucs. They had four sacks, including one on Tom Brady, and a couple of interceptions while also holding Tampa Bay down to only 29 rushing yards on 17 carries. That’s the kind of performance Cincy will look to recreate on Friday against Washington that had some success on the ground in Week 1. Hopefully for the Bengals, their offense will pick things up soon after an atrocious showing in the Tampa Bay game.
The Bengals are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 preseason games.
Betting on the Washington Football Team (odds)
Regular Season Record: 0-1
Washington absorbed a 22-13 road loss in Week 1 at the hands of the New England Patriots, but despite the paltry sum of points the Football Team put up, head coach Ron Rivera seemed content with what he saw from the offense. He was especially praiseful of Washington’s offensive line and running game, with Washington coming up with 122 rushing yards, thanks in large part to the blocking in front of the running backs. Cincinnati’s defense will be a nice test for the Football Team, so Steven Montez, Taylor Heinicke, and Ryan Fitzpatrick will all have to be more effective under center to open things up for their ground attack. Washingtons’ defense should also be ready to pounce on any miscues the error-prone Bengals will be committing.
The under is 4-0 in Washington’s last four preseason games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bengals win, 17-16.
