Fresno State Bulldogs vs Nevada Wolf Pack Predictions, Picks, Odds, and NCAA Basketball Betting Preview – February 23 2019

The No. 6 Nevada Wolf Pack (+1,800 to win the national title) are barely being challenged in conference play, but that doesn’t mean they are guaranteed to win the Mountain West Conference, as teams like the Fresno State Bulldogs (+100,000) can still catch up on them atop the league standings. Will the Bulldogs upset Nevada? Or will Nevada go 2-0 SU on Fresno State this season?

Betting on the Fresno State Bulldogs (19-6 Overall / 10-3 Conference)

The Bulldogs will arrive into their game against the Air Force Falcons this coming Saturday on the heels of a three-game winning streak, and chances are that Fresno State will beat the struggling Falcons. In any case, Saturday’s matchup – or rematch – with the Wolf Pack will be a huge test for Fresno State, which is shooting well from deep this season. In fact, the Bulldogs are tops in the conference with a 37.9 percent shooting from behind the arc. In their 81-73 road win over the New Mexico Lobos last Saturday, the Bulldogs went 14-for-37 from distance. They matched the 10 3-pointers the Wolf Pack hand in the first meeting with Nevada on Jan. 12, but committed five more turnovers than their opponent in a 74-64 home loss. They also got outrebounded, 42-34, so those are two areas the Bulldogs will have to improve on.

Fresno State is 6-1-1 ATS in road games this season.

Betting on the Nevada Wolf Pack (24-1 Overall / 11-1 Conference)

Nevada is blowing the competition away in the conference. Heading into a date with the San Diego State Aztecs this Wednesday, the Wolf Pack are riding a 10-game unbeaten streak, a stretch that includes their 82-49 demolition on the road last Saturday. Prior to that, they detonated the Lobos in a 91-62 win at home. Nevada’s offense is one of the best in the nation, but it has stepped it up of late. The Wolf Pack are averaging 82.5 points per game this season and 90.3 over their last three games. In the game against Fresno State last month, Caleb Martin paced the team with 27 points, though, he had an inefficient 8-for-20 shooting line from the field, including a 4-for-15 performance from behind the arc. Nevada’s defense is elite, too, as it’s ranked first in the conference by KenPom and 26th nationally.

Nevada is 8-3 ATS in home games this season.

Writer’s Prediction

Nevada wins, 77-66.
