Betting on the Georgetown Hoyas (+8)

Patrick Ewing will have to continue dealing with the security team of Madison Square Garden, as his Hoyas squad just made it to the finals of the Big East tournament following an upset 66-58 win over the Seton Hall Pirates on Friday. The Hoyas are on a mini-Cinderella team themselves in the tourney. The Hoyas didn’t have a bye, so they had to beat the Marquette Golden Eagles in the first round and score an upset over top-seed Villanova Wildcats in the quarterfinals, before upending Seton Hall. Georgetown’s aggressiveness has been paying off of late. The Hoyas have had at least 22 free throw attempts in each of their last three games, which includes their win over Seton Hall in which Georgetown went 18 of 25 from the foul line. When Georgetown defeated the Bluejays on Feb. 3 on the road, the Hoyas went 18 of 24 on their free throws. Look for Georgetown to win the rebounding battle against Creighton. Georgetown finished the regular season first in the Big East with 38.4 rebounds per game. The Hoyas’ size advantage in the frontcourt will be on full display this Saturday.

Betting on the Creighton Bluejays (-8)
Record: 20-7 Overall / 14-6 Conference
After crushing the Butler Bulldogs on Thursday, 87-56, Creighton scored a 59-56 win over the UConn Huskies on Friday to book a ticket to the finals of the Big East tournament. Creighton’s defense has been unforgiving in this tournament, so far. The Bluejays limited Butler to only 35.1 percent shooting from the field and held UConn to just 32.8 field goal percentage. Creighton’s stingy defense has been a strength of this team this season in which Creighton is allowing opponents to shoot just 40.7 percent from the floor — 32nd overall in the nation. Georgetown knows all about that Bluejays defense, as the Hoyas shot a horrendous 25.9 percent in a 63-48 home loss to Creighton back on Feb. 9. On offense, it’s a balanced attack, as it has five players averaging at least 10 points per game, led by Marcus Zegarowski, who’s putting up[ 15.5 points per game while shooting 50.8 percent from inside the arc.
Creighton is 3-0 against the spread in its last three games.
