Now that was a shock. The Golden State Warriors had their four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday with a humiliating 110-89 loss to the undermanned Memphis Grizzlies. It was a disappointing defeat for the Warriors who trailed by as much as 30 points in this contest. They will look to get their season back on track when they lock horns with the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.  The Warriors will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have fared extremely well against the Wolves of late. The Warriors have won eight of their last nine meetings with the Wolves.

For the Warriors to extend that dominance tonight, they will need to get a much better performance from their Big Four. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green combined for just 53 points on 37.5 percent shooting in the loss to the Grizzlies. No wonder the Warriors were held to a season-low 89 points by Memphis. Prior to Saturday’s loss, the Big 4 had combined for at least 89 points in eight of 23 games.

If there’s one team, though, that can reinvigorate Golden State’s anemic offense, it’s got to be Minnesota. The Warriors thrashed the Wolves, 115-102, in their first meeting this season. Even without the sidelined Draymond Green, the Warriors ran riot against the Wolves’ feeble defense, shooting at a high 55.6 percent clip. Curry, Durant and Thompson carried the scoring cudgels in that game, combining for 85 points on 32-of-53 shooting from the field.

The Warriors are 8-2 SU and 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10 road games.

Betting on the Minnesota Timberwolves (TBA)

What in the world is happening to Minnesota? The Timberwolves crashed to their third consecutive defeat with a humiliating 117-90 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. The Wolves simply had no answer for Detroit big man Andre Drummond who recorded his third 20-20 game this season. It was another meek display by the Wolves who have now lost seven of their last eight games.

That string of poor performances have led head coach Tom Thibodeau and point guard Ricky Rubio to question their team’s heart and desire. The Wolves need to ratchet up the intensity fast as they will next face the league-leading Golden State Warriors. The Warriors have won 11 of their 13 road games this season.

For Minnesota to record a major shock, it needs to step up its play on the defensive end. The Wolves have allowed at least 106 points in each of their last eight outings. They are eighth-worst in the NBA in scoring defense, surrendering 106.9 points per game this season. The Wolves are in for a long night against a Golden State offense that’s averaging a whopping 118.1 points per game this season, tops in the NBA.

The Wolves are 0-5 SU and ATS in their last five home games.

Golden State bounces back with a huge 112-92 win.
