Betting on the Golden State Warriors (-6)
It was uncharacteristic to see the Warriors shoot below 45 percent from the field, but that’s exactly what happened Friday night in New Orleans. The defending NBA champs had a 38.0 field goal shooting percentage in the loss to the Pelicans. No one among Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson shot shot better than 50 percent from the field, too. Klay Thompson paced the team in Game 3 with 26 points, while Draymond Green almost had a triple-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. That said, it’s unlikely for the Warriors to shoot that bad again this Sunday, as it’s rare for an offensively gifted team like them to fire that many blanks two games in a row.
The Warriors are averaging 109.0 points on 46.5 percent shooting in these playoffs They are also 8-2 SU in their last 10 games in New Orleans.
Betting on the New Orleans Pelicans (+6)
Anthony Davis had a monster performance in Game 3, as he made sure his Pelicans were not going to be defeated again. Davis pumped in 33 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Rajon Rondo, meanwhile, had four points to go with an insane total of 21 assists with 10 rebounds to boot. The Pelicans may have lost the first two games, but they have always shown they are a lethal offensive team, too. In Game 3, they showed that again by making 50 percent of their shots and going 14-for-31 from behind the 3-point arc. Nikola Mirotic, Jrue Holiday, and Ian Clark each had three triples, matching among themselves the nine treys Golden State had in the game. The Pelicans are No. 1 in these playoffs in scoring with 113.4 points per game and second with a 49.5 field goal shooting percentage.
The Pels are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games.
