Both of these famous franchises still have a shot at claiming their respective divisions, but recent losses have made this head-to-head a definite must-win game.

The Green Bay Packers finally broke their month-long winless run after a valiant come-from-behind win over the Atlanta Falcons last week.

The Packers fell behind 21-10 in the first half, prompting the Lambeau crowd to boo their home team. But twelve unanswered second half points pushed the Packers to a much-needed victory. Green Bay (6-6-1) remains one win behind the division-leading Lions and Bears, who are both 7-6, but they hold the tie-breakers over the Packers.

Their faint playoffs hopes will hinge on the health of Aaron Rodgers. The former NFL MVP is nearing his return from a broken collarbone, but might not be ready to face the Cowboys. Back-up Matt Flynn had his best game of the season against the Falcons as he completed 75% of his passes for 258 yards.

Rookie of the Year candidate Eddie Lacy suffered a sprained ankle late in the first half against the Falcons. He returned in the second half but his effectiveness might be limited. Since Rodgers’ injury, Lacy has averaged just 3.1 yards per carry.

Rodgers’ absence is obviously huge, but the Packers can probably put up points on this porous Dallas D. The total has gone OVER in 12 of Green Bay’s last 15 games against Dallas.

If Monday Night’s embarrassing loss to the Bears is any indication, Dallas might have to prepare itself for another December swoon. [sc:NFL240banner ]

Chicago throttled Dallas from all angles as they piled up 499 total yards of offense. The majority of those yards came through the air; Josh McCown burned the atrocious Cowboys secondary for 348 yards — 184 of which went to Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery — and 4 TDs.

DeMarco Murray was the lone bright spot for Dallas on offense; he garnered 154 of the team’s 198 yards on the ground on just 18 carries. The passing game, however, never got on track. Despite 3 touchdown passes, Tony Romo – who is now 13-18 in his career in December – completed just 11 of 20 passes for 104 yards before getting benched in the second half.

As a result, the Cowboys lost valuable ground on Philadelphia in the race for the NFC East title with only three games to go – the last of which will be at home against the Eagles. Sunday’s game against the Packers will also be at home, where the Cowboys are 5-1 SU this season.

Bet now on the Dallas Cowboys.
