Betting on the Green Bay Packers (8-2)
The Packers will hit the field again after a bye in Week 11. Prior to that extra week of rest, Green Bay toasted the Carolina Panthers at home to the tune of a 24-16 score. Aaron Rodgers wasn’t particularly impressive in that game, though, as the bad man only had 233 passing yards and zero touchdowns on 17-of-29 completions. The one who did most of the heavy lifting for the Packers was running back Aaron Jones, who found the end zone three times on 13 carries. Jones has been a touchdown machine for the Packers. He has 11 rushing touchdowns and three receiving touchdowns on the season. But if the Packers are to break down the Niners’ defense, they will likely need Davante Adams to be himself. Adams missed some games due to a toe injury, but he’s seemingly found his groove back two games into his return, as he had 118 receiving yards on seven catches against the Panthers. Adams has yet to score a touchdown reception this year, and his first could come sooner than later, considering how talented he is.
The Packers are 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five road games.
Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (9-1)
The 49ers avoided another misstep in Week 11, as they took down the Arizona Cardinals in a 36-26 come-from-behind victory on the road. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 34 of 45 passes for 424 passing yards and four touchdowns with a pair of interceptions. Despite the picks, it was amazing how Garoppolo was able to hook up with undrafted players for all those passing touchdowns. That would likely not have been the case if star tight end George Kittle was around. Kittle missed his second game in a row due to a knee injury and he could be missing more. As of recent reports, Kittle was not able to practice on Wednesday, though, he still has a few days to make it back to the field and show readiness to play. In any case, the Niners will be relying on their defense to effectively slow down Green Bay. San Francisco is second in the NFL with just 15.5 points allowed per game.
The 49ers are 2-1-1 ATS in their last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Packers win, 28-26.
