Urban Meyer is gone, but the losing continues for the Jaguars, who lost to the Houston Texans at home in Week 15, 30-16. Trevor Lawrence was silent again on the touchdown front, as he went 22/38 for 210 yards and zero TDs and zero interceptions. If anything, running back James Robinson came alive, as he proved he’s still in the NFL by rushing for 75 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. The Jaguars hope that the losing will end in Week 16 against an equally listless squad in the form of the Jets. New York has a pathetic defense that is arguably the worst in the league and should give Lawrence a great shot at finally scoring a touchdown after a long while.
The Jaguars have seen the total go under in eight of its last 10 games overall.
Betting on the New York Jets (-2)
Regular Season Record: 3-11
The Jets lost to the Miami Dolphins on the road in Week 15, 31-24. That’s New York’s third loss in a row. Zach Wilson threw for 170 yards and zero touchdowns on 13/23 completions, but he did scoot for a rushing score. The Jets are not going to go anywhere with Wilson if their offensive line continues to be porous. Wilson got sacked six times by the Dolphins, though, the rookie quarterback also has to be quicker with his decisions. The Jags’ pass rush is nothing to write home about, so perhaps Wilson will get easier looks in Week 16 from the pocket. New York entered Week 15 with an average of 17.9 points per game.
The over is 4-2 in the Jets’ last six home games.
