Betting on the Kentucky Wildcats (+22.5)

Record: 6-0 Overall / 4-0 Conference

Kentucky continues to impress this season, as the Wildcats took down the LSU Tigers at home last Saturday, 42-21. Quarterback Will Levis was efficient with his limited passing attempts, going 14/17 for 145 passing yards and three touchdowns. The Wildcats did a fine job calling plays, resulting in multiple chances inside the red zone. Kentucky also got 330 rushing yards and three touchdowns from its rushing attack, led by running back Chris Rodriguez Jr., who finished the game with 147 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Georgia could make the Wildcats bleed more for their points, but Kentucky isn’t going to shoot itself in the foot with unnecessary penalties. The Wildcats are disciplined when it comes to that, with just 4.8  penalties per contest. That may not sound much, but it could be the difference that makes the Wildcats at least hit a cover in Athens.

Kentucky is 5-1 against the spread in its last six games overall.

Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (-22.5)

Record: 6-0 Overall / 4-0 Conference

Stetson Bennett and the Bulldogs’ defense powered Georgia to yet another win last Saturday. Bennett was 14/21 for 231 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions in the Bulldogs’ 34-10 thrashing of the Auburn Tigers on the road. The Bulldogs’ defense didn’t give Auburn much breathing room, as Georgia allowed just 17 first downs and just a total of 218 yards. Georgia’s defense has been the best in the nation, scoring-wise. It’s surrendering just an average of 5.5 points per game, which is almost comical. What’s more ridiculous even is that the Bulldogs have allowed only 13 points to all three ranked opponents they’ve passed so far this season — combined. After rushing for 201 yards and two touchdowns against Auburn, Zamir White and the Bulldogs will look to burn Kentucky’s run defense that let LSU tailback Tyrion Davis-Price burn rubber for 147 rushing yards and a couple of touchdowns on 22 carries.

Georgia is 4-2 against the spread in its last six games as the home team.

Writer’s Prediction

Georgia wins,  27-13.
