Betting on the Louisville Cardinals (23-6, 11-5 ACC)
Louisville still has an outside shot at claiming at least a share of the ACC regular season title with North Carolina, but it must win its remaining two games. The Cardinals bounced back from their loss to UNC in a big way by demolishing Syracuse, 88-68, at home.
Donovan Mitchell continued his oustanding play by going for 25 points against the Orange. Mitchell has been a consistent source of offense for the Cardinals, and has scored 20 or more points in three straight games.
Four of Louisville’s five conference losses to date have all come on the road. However, all four of those losses have come against ranked opponents. The Cardinals have won all four of their ACC road games against unranked opponents, and three of them were by 15 or more points. They even covered against Syracuse, which makes them a perfect 4-0 ATS in those road games against unranked foes.
Louisville has won each of its first two meetings against Wake Forest as part of the ACC, including an 85-76 win in their lone visit to Winston-Salem back in 2015.
Betting on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (16-12, 7-9 ACC)
Wake Forest is still in the bubble for the NCAA tournament, and a signature win over a top-10 team like Louisville can do the Demon Deacons’ resume a world of good. Wake has been off for a solid week since its last game, a 63-59 win over Pitt.
Star big man John Collins had another dominant performance with 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Deacs to a big come-from-behind victory over the Panthers. Collins has been outstanding all conference season long for Wake. The 6-10 sophomore is averaging 19 points and nearly 10 rebounds, and is currently on an incredible run of 11-straight games of 20 or more points.
Wake is winless in seven tries against ranked opponents this season, although they did give both North Carolina and Duke (twice) a scare. They’ve especially been tough to beat at home. They’ve won four out of their last five home games, with their lone loss coming by two against Duke. They’re also 5-1 ATS in their last six at home, including 3-0 ATS as the underdog.
Writer’s Prediction
The Lawrence Joel Coliseum will be absolutely rocking for Senior Night. The Deacs will feed off their raucous crowd to give Wake (+3.5) the big 66-63 upset win over No. 8 Louisville.
