Betting on the Minnesota Vikings (-3)
Regular Season Record: 2-1
The Vikings took advantage of Detroit’s leaky defense in Week 3. Kirk Cousins went 24/41 for 260 passing yards (2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions) while also benefiting from solid pass protection with only one sack absorbed. Running back Dalvin Cook rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Cook sustained a shoulder injury but is reportedly expected to play in London. In any case, the Vikings still have one of the best handcuffs in football in the form of running back Alexander Mattison. The Saints have been so vulnerable against the run this season, so Cook might cook on the ground again in Week 4. Minnesota’s defense could also take advantage of Jameis Winston’s turnover-prone style of play. Winston now has five interceptions since in the Saints’ last two games.
The Vikings are 2-2 against the spread in their last four games overall.
Betting on the New Orleans Saints (+3)
Regular Season Record: 1-2
With Winston, it’s always about taking the good with the bad. And since Week 1, he hasn’t been very good under center for the Saints, who might have a decision to make on a potential QB switch. That said, Saints head coach Dennis Allen has already said that the team will be sticking to Winson, who went 25/41 for 353 passing yards (1 TD, 2 INTs) in the loss to Carolina. Alvin Kamara also did not show up in that contest, coughing up just 61 rushing yards on 15 carries, while also losing a fumble. The one who did was rookie wide receiver Chris Olave, who exploded for 147 receiving yards on nine catches. Watch out for this young stud in London.
The Under is 8-2 in the Saints’ last 10 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Vikings win, 27-20.
