Betting on the New York Giants (+10)
Regular Season Record: 2-5
The Giants will not have running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver Kenny Golladay in Week 8 against Kansas City, but given the status of the Chiefs’ defense. Daniel Jones and New York’s attack should see good scoring chances this Monday. New York is coming off a 25-3 home win in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, who might be struggling of late, but still possess a better stop unit than Kansas City. Jones passed for 203 yards and a touchdown on 23/33 completions against the Panthers, while Devontae Booker had 51 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. The Giants are putting up 19.9 points and 352.3 passing yards per game, 25th and 19th in the NFL, respectively.
The Giants are also 4-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last four road games opposite a team with a losing home record.
Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (-10)
Regular Season Record: 3-4
The Chiefs are starting to realize that even making the playoffs will be an uphill climb for them. The good thing is that it’s still not too late for Kansas City to turn things around, and a game against a mediocre and banged-up Giants team could just be what the doctor ordered. The Chiefs are coming off a 27-3 road loss to the Tennessee Titans. It was an ugly loss, to say the least, for the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes was not able to throw for a TD, was intercepted once, sacked four times, and fumbled twice. But is Kansas City so bad that it will lose that badly for the second game in a row against the Giants? Mahomes should get his moxie back. While the Chiefs’ defense has been a huge letdown, it’s not like it’s facing an elite offense either at home Monday night.
The Chiefs are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight-up loss.
Writer’s Prediction
The Chiefs win, 31-20.
