New York Giants vs San Francisco 49ers Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – NFL Week 10 2017

This high-caliber, playoff-contending…oh wait, we’re talking about the Giants and the 49ers here in 2017. OK, so this may be a lackluster game from a fan perspective, but bettors are taking notice.

The last time these two squads met was back in October of 2015. The Giants beat the 49ers 30-27, adding to their slight historical series edge of 20-19 wins overall. The Giants are 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five games against the 49ers, and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games on grass. Also, New York is 5-0 ATS in their last five road games when up against a team with a losing home record. Lastly, the 49ers are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 home games. You may want to wager with the trend on this one. That being said, this could be the moment that San Francisco gets their first and only win of the season. Wager where you will.

TV Broadcast: FOX

Betting on the New York Giants (1-7)

Point Spread: (-2.5)

The New York Giants seemed to be checked out of this season, and it sounds like there might be some big decisions that will need to be made at the end of season including if they want to bring back the coaching staff, and if Eli Manning will be the starting quarterback next season. So far this season the Giants only have one win, and that was a few weeks ago over the Denver Broncos, a team that has also really struggled.

In their last game the defense was terrible, and the Rams took advantage. Jared Goff had a huge game and that led to a 51-17. On the offensive side of the ball, Eli Manning has really struggled. So far this season he has thrown for 1820 yards, 12 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

He has had a couple of times this year where he could have made a couple late drives to keep his team in it, but he hasn’t been able to come through in the clutch. The defensive side of the ball has also really struggled. So far this season they are giving up 25.9 points per game which is 29th in the NFL. To win this game the defense is going to need to play well, and Eli Manning is going to need to have a big game and not turn the ball over.

Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (0-9)

Point Spread: (+2.5)

On the other side of this match up is the San Francisco 49ers who have had a terrible year so far this year, and they still haven’t had a win yet this year. This might be their best chance to get a win though, so this is going to be a huge opportunity to them if they don’t want to go win less.

One of the biggest issues for this team has been at the quarterback position. They made a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo but it’s unclear if he will start in this game. If he doesn’t go in this game C.J. Beathard will be the one to get the start. He has thrown for 941 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions

He is young but doesn’t seem to be making the right decisions, and that has caused the 49ers trouble in the last couple of games. The defense for the 49ers has also really struggled. Coming into this game they are giving up 26.6 points per game which is 31st in the country.

Writer’s Prediction:

This is a huge game for both teams as they want every win they can get, and I think both teams will come out motivated early.  I think Eli Manning has a lot of pride though, and he knows how bad a loss would look in this game. I think that the Giants will win this game and pull the minor upset. Pick: Giants (-2.5)
