The San Francisco 49ers (+75,000 to win NFC title) seemed to have found a star in the making in the form of quarterback Nick Mullens, who had an awesome NFL debut in last week’s thrashing of the Oakland Raiders. Can he do it again on Monday against the New York Giants (+100,000 to top the conference)? Or will Eli Manning and the Giants top the 49ers in Santa Clara?

Betting on the New York Giants (1-7)
The Giants just couldn’t stop themselves from letting their fans down. Before taking a Week 9 bye, the Giants extended their losing skid to six games, as they took a 20-13 defeat to the Washington Redskins at home. The trend of shaky play from Eli Manning continued in that game, as the quarterback passed for 316 yards on 30-of-47 completions to go with a touchdown but had two interceptions. The Giants mostly suffered from their inability to convert on third downs, going 2-of-15 in those situations against the Redskins. A big reason for Manning’s struggles under center in Week 8 was the poor job of his pass protection. Manning was sacked seven times for a loss of 50 yards, and he’s not the only one who suffered from the Giants’ poor offensive line. Rookie running back Saquon Barkley only had 38 rushing yards on 13 carries, though, his paltry production on the ground can be largely attributed also to the Redskins’ stout run defense. However, Barkley can have more success next Monday opposite the Niners’ defense that has allowed 112.0 rushing yards over San Francisco’s last three games.
The Giants are 3-0 ATS in their last three road games.
Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (2-7)
Nick Mullens went from being an unknown football player into someone having a verified Twitter account due to his unforgettable NFL debut in last week’s 34-3 win at home over the Oakland Raiders. Mullens went off for 262 passing yards and three touchdowns without an interception on 16-of-22 completions. Tight end George Kittle was the biggest beneficiary of Mullens’ stunning debut, as he finished the game with 108 receiving yards and a touchdown on four catches. Mullens could have a heavier load to carry on offense for the 49ers on Monday, as the team’s backfield took a gut punch with the placing of running back Raheem Mostert on the injured reserve after he suffered a gruesome arm injury in the Raiders game. That said, the 49ers still have the pair of Alfred Morris and Matt Breida in the backfield to carry out tasks on the team’s ground attack.
The under is 2-0 in the 49ers’ last two home games.
Writer’s Prediction
San Francisco wins, 24-23.
