New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills Predictions, Picks, Odds, and Betting Preview – NFL Week 14 – December 9 2018

Here’s a matchup between two teams with bleak NFL Futures yet plenty for bettors to get invested in. It was not that long ago when the 4-8 Buffalo Bills used the 3-9 New York Jets to mop the floor in a Week 10 win. Will the Jets avenge that embarrassing loss? Or will the Bills make it 2-0 straight up (SU) against the Jets this season? This game also carries the potential for a first-ever showdown between rookie quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Josh Allen, so that’s one thing to watch out for.

Betting on the New York Jets (3-9)

The Green Bay Packers have already fired head coach Mike McCarthy, and Todd Bowles is a good bet to be the next to go, especially if he fails to avenge the Jets’ embarrassing 41-10 loss to the Buffalo Jets back in Week 10 this coming weekend. The Jets are desperately needing a spark after taking a 26-22 road loss at the hands of the Tennessee Titans in Week 13 – New York’s sixth loss in a row. The hope is that rookie quarterback Sam Darnold will be back under center for the Jets after missing every game since Week 9 due to a foot injury. If he can’t give it a go, veteran quarterback Josh McCown will be back to be the rookie’s placeholder. McCown went just 17 of 34 for 135 passing yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions in the first meeting with the Bills. One Jets player who will come into the rematch with the Bills with some semblance of momentum is running back Isaiah Crowell, who popped up out of nowhere to record 98 rushing yards on 21 carries on the Titans game.

The under is 2-1 in the Jets’ last two road games.

Betting on the Buffalo Bills (4-8)

The Bills took another loss last Sunday, when they fell prey to the Miami Dolphins on the road, 21-17. Despite that, the Bills must feel encouraged by what they have seen from rookie quarterback Josh Allen so far. Against the Dolphins, Allen completed just 18 of 33 throws for 231 passing yards and two touchdowns. While he also had two interceptions, Allen is showing tons of promise in his ability to find targets in the end zone and make plats outside of the pocket. He rushed for 135 rushing yards on nine carries in the Dolphins game. He was not around in the first date with the Jets due to an injury, letting Matt Barkley to take over the reins under center, so he’ll have some element of surprise in his side this coming Sunday. Defensively, the Bills will look to abuse the Jets’ leaky offensive line again. They sacked McCown three times for a loss of 19 yards in Week 1o to go with two picks off of the veteran gunslinger.

The Bills are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games against New York.

Writer’s Prediction

Buffalo pummels the Jets again, 27-19.
