How about Nathan Eovaldi? Eovaldi has been one of the best-kept secrets in the majors, as the right-hander is coming off a fantastic month of May in which he gathered a 5-0 record and a 3.25 ERA in six starts. That stretch includes a sterling performance in a 2-1 victory over Tampa Bay on May 29, wherein he allowed just one run on six hits while striking out seven in six frames of action.

Eovaldi will look to keep the good time rolling later tonight when he takes the mound in Game 1 of the Baltimore series. So far this season, he has a 6-2 slate and a 3.71 ERA. Dating back to 2015, the Yankees are 8-2 in Eovaldi’s last 10 road starts.

The problem, however, for the Yankees is run production. They rank near the bottom of the majors in runs, batting average, and on-base percentage. Still, the Yankees can look forward to the plate appearances of Didi Gregorious and Mark Teixeira later tonight. Gregorious is 5-for-10 (.500) in his career against Baltimore’s Chris Tillman. Tex, meanwhile, is 9-for-25 (.360) in the same matchup.

Betting on the Baltimore Orioles (-115)

The Yankees’ Eovaldi has a tough task ahead of him. That’s because he’ll be facing the Orioles’ soul-crushing offense that has produced 25 runs over Baltimore’s past two games. The O’s won 13-9 against Boston on Wednesday and followed that up with a 12-7 victory to close out the four-game series on Thursday.

That’s exactly the kind of offense Baltimore starter Chris Tillman will look to lean on later tonight. Tillman is getting 5.01 runs per nine innings pitched. He’ll bring a 7-1 record and a 2.92 ERA against New York. Tillman is 5-0 with a 2.04 ERA in seven starts at Camden Yards this year.

Manny Machado and Mark Trumbo have the hottest bats right now for the Orioles. Machado is batting .367 (11-for-30) in his last seven games. Trumbo, who jacked two homers in Thursday’s win over Boston, is hitting .346 (9-for-26) with three blasts and 10 RBI.

Baltimore is 8-2 in its last 10 home games against the Yankees.

Writer’s Prediction
