Betting on the New York Yankees (3-2)
If Masahiro Tanaka is looking for a big test for his surgery-fresh elbow, then he’ll get one later tonight against the hard-hitting Blue Jays. That said, the Japanese hurler has been able to tame the Blue Jays in the past and he’ll look to stifle Toronto’s big bats anew.Tanaka’s elbow looked fine when he made his season debut on April 5, allowing just two earned runs on four hits on 5.2 innings of a 5-3 loss to the Astros. Tanaka keeps a 5-2 record and a 2.23 ERA in seven career starts against Toronto. That includes a fantastic start at Yankee Stadium on September 13 last year, when he threw for seven scoreless innings and allowed just four hits while fanning four in a 5-0 victory. Tanaka is also unbeaten in Rogers Centre, where he’s 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA in two career starts there.
Tanaka should get support from the likes of Starlin Castro and Carlos Beltran. Castro is 9-for-20 thus far this season. Beltran, meanwhile, hit 2-for-3 with a homer off Toronto starter Aaron Sanchez last year.
The Yankees are 7-3 in Tanaka’s last 10 starts.

Betting on the Toronto Blue Jays (3-4)
Toronto’s offense hasn’t looked like the one it had in 2015 this year, but the Blue Jays remain a dangerous bunch to face for most pitchers.
The Blue Jays, who are coming off a 3-0 win over Boston on Sunday to break a four-game slide, have yet to make 10 hits in a game this season after doing that in 67 contests last year. Moreover, the Blue Jays average just 4.1 runs thus far this year, significantly fewer than 5.5 last season.
Aaron Sanchez is looking forward to a much better performance from Toronto’s hitters as he makes his second start of the season tonight. Sanchez tossed for seven frames on April 5, yielding just an earned run (a homer) on five hits while recording eight punch-outs in a 3-2 road loss to Tampa Bay.
Sanchez has spent most of his career as a relief pitcher and hasn’t started a game versus the Yankees before. He’s 1-2, though, with a 3.48 ERA and .194 batting average in 10 appearances opposite the Bronx Bombers.
Josh Donaldson, who is the only Blue Jay hitting above .300, has four homers and nine RBIs thus far this season. Ryan Goins will also try to make things happen at the plate, as he’s been hot of late. He’s 5-for-13 (.385) over the last five games.
Toronto is 6-2 in its last eight games against the Yankees.
