[sc:NFL240banner ]After six weeks of action, only three analysts from CBS Sports have 50 or more wins ATS to date: Jason La Canfora (57), Dave Richard (52) and Pete Prisco (50). With that in mind, all three of them selected the three favored teams from the NFC West to cover the spread.
St. Louis and Arizona have home games against the AFC North’s Cleveland and Baltimore, respectively, and the Rams and Cards will take full advantage of two struggling clubs that have porous defenses. The Browns are giving up 407.3 yards per game, while the Ravens are surrendering 380.7 per contest themselves. On the other hand, the Rams are fresh off a bye and have found new life in the running game thanks to Todd Gurley’s arrival, and the Cards are simply one of the most prolific offenses in the league, period.
Seattle is that other team from the division favored to win this week as they take on bitter rivals the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks have buckled late in games for the past two contests, but a showdown against the Niners might cure their recent slide. The team has won three of the past four meetings against San Fran, with Colin Kaepernick having some of his worst games (six total picks in those four contests) against Seattle’s Legion of Boom D.

Over at Bleacher Report, Steve Silverman has an issue with how the bookies are either giving the undefeated New England Patriots too much credit for their dominant run this season, or why the New York Jets are being undervalued as (+9) underdogs in spite of their sound play and a 4-1 record.
Sure, Tom Brady has been on fire for the Pats, and the team’s defense has also stepped up. Everybody knows that. However, a lot of people have overlooked the fact that the Jets are currently tops in the league in rushing yards per game (146.0), and that New England’s Achilles’ heel is actually stopping the run, as they are just 22nd in the league against the rush. Expect Chris Ivory (back-to-back 100-yard games each with a TD, 5.5 yards per carry for the season) to at the very least cover the huge spread, if not power his team to a huge upset of mighty New England.
Silverman is also high on the Buffalo Bills to pick up another win at the expense of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was amused by how Rex Ryan’s teams found ways this season to come back with a solid win after a brutal loss, and this week should be no different. Plus, the game will be played in London, so the Jags have basically given up true home field advantage, leaving resurgent LeSean McCoy (90 yards, one TD in Week 6 versus a stout Cincinnati front seven) wide open to gash Jacksonville’s D on neutral ground.

Lastly, the team over at Sportsbook Review (SBRpicks.com) is leaning towards a win for the Minnesota Vikings as slim favorites in their road game against the Detroit Lions. The Vikes already have a win over their NFC North rivals this season from Week 2, and Detroit even needed overtime to prevail over the equally disappointing Chicago Bears on Sunday for its first win in 2015. The total has also gone under in the past four meetings between these two teams as well, making this matchup one of the more no-brainer choices on the schedule, both ATS and O/U.
The same situation can be said of the Pittsburgh Steelers right now, which the site also picked to win as slight favorites on the road against the Jamaal Charles-less Kansas City Chiefs. Pittsburgh could have Ben Roethlisberger back by this game, but even third-stringer Landry Jones filled in well as the team’s QB in the win over Arizona last Sunday.
On the flipside, the Chiefs are totally lost on offense without their featured back, putting up just ten points in the loss to the Vikings in Week 6 with Charcandrick West and Knile Davis splitting limited touches in the backfield for Kansas City’s run-heavy offense.
