Betting on the Oklahoma State Cowboys (odds)
Record: 17-6 Overall / 10-6 Conference
Cade Cunningham and the Cowboys continue to make loud noises toward the end of the regular season. Oklahoma State has won five games in a row, ahead of its matchup with Baylor this coming Thursday. Oklahoma State took down the Oklahoma Sooners in back-to-back fashion. Prior to that, the Cowboys beat the Texas Tech Red Raiders. As it stands, the Cowboys now have eight Quadrant 1 wins. Over their last three games, the Cowboys have shot 49.4 percent from the field and averaged 82.3 points, while holding opponents down to only 44.2 percent shooting from the floor. Cunningham, who’ll be playing in the NBA before the year ends, is averaging 19.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
Oklahoma State is 6-3-1 against the spread in its last 10 road games.
Betting on the Baylor Bears (odds)
Record: 19-1 Overall / 11-1 Conference
Baylor let out a huge sigh of relief on Tuesday, as the Bears avoided losing two games in a row after outlasting the pesky West Virginia Mountaineers in Morgantown for a 94-89 win. The Bears, who suffered their first loss of the season last Saturday when they fell prey to the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence, will be returning to Waco, where they are undefeated this season. The Bears survived the Mountaineers by recapturing their touch from long range, drilling 13 of 31 3-point attempts after shooting just 23.1 percent from deep in the Kansas game. The 3-point shot should be a prominent weapon for Baylor against the Cowboys, whose defense against the three-ball has looked so vulnerable of late. Opponents have shot 38.9 percent from behind the arc in Oklahoma State’s last three games. Conversely, the Bears are No. 1 in the nation with a 42.5 3-point shooting percentage.
The over is 4-0 in Baylor’s last four games as the home team.
Writer’s Prediction
Baylor wins, 84-70.
