The Philadelphia Eagles are still alive, and so are their dreams of becoming back-to-back Super Bowl champions at least for another week after they eliminated the Chicago Bears last Sunday. Up ahead for Nick Foles and company is a massive challenge, as they will take on the No. 1 seed in the NFC in the form of the New Orleans Saints, the same team that destroyed them some weeks ago. Will Foles weave his magic again? Or will the Saints continue their ride? NFL Futures currently favor the Saints with +250 odds to win the Super Bowl while the Eagles equal the Dallas Cowboys with +1400 odds to do the same.

Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (9-7)
Nick Foles really need to have his own bronze statue side-by-side with Rocky in Philadelphia. He’s been that big of a hero in Philly, especially after leading the Eagles to a 16-15 road win in the wild-card round against the Chicago Bears. In that game, Foles threw two touchdowns against two interceptions and finished with 266 passing yards on 25-of-40 completions against the Bears’ killing-machine defense. If he could survive the Bears, Foles definitely has a chance of passing the test of the Saints’ defense that was only 26th in the regular season in opponents’ completion percentage with a 67.02 clip. Foles also gives the Saints a new puzzle to solve, as he didn’t see action when the Eagles lost in New Orleans in Week 11, 48-7. Running back Josh Adams will also look to have success against the Saints – again. He had 53 rushing yards and a touchdown on just seven carries in the first meeting with New Orleans.
The Eagles are 3-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last three road games.
Betting on the New Orleans Saints (13-3)
Obviously, the Saints have the psychological advantage in the upcoming matchup with Philly, having crushed the Eagles several weeks ago. Also, New Orleans has the better quarterback, regardless of how Foles did last Sunday. Drew Brees is among the frontrunners to win this season’s MVP award. Brees finished the regular season with 3,992 passing yards and 32 touchdowns with only five interceptions. In the Week 11 win over the Eagles, Brees was like a true saint, passing for 363 yards and three touchdowns with zero picks thrown on 22-of-30 completions. Wide receivers Tre’Quan Smith and Michael Thomas toyed with the Eagles’ secondary, recording 157 and 92 receiving yards, respectively, with two touchdown receptions combined. Meanwhile, running back Mark Ingram had 103 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. The Saints generate plenty of points from almost everywhere, which make them hard to defend. The Saints ended the regular season third in scoring offense with 31.5 points per game and eighth in total offense with 379.2 total yards per contest.
The Saints are 8-2 SU and 5-5 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
New Orleans ends Foles Magic with a 30-21 win.
