There’s no quitting in the Nebraska Cornhuskers, whose performance in the conference has been disappointing to say the least. Despite their struggles, the Cornhuskers are still perceived a tricky team to face even for squads like the No. 15 Purdue Boilermakers. The Cornhuskers and the Boilermakers are +25,000 and +3,000 to win the national title, respectively.

Betting on the Purdue Boilermakers (18-7 Overall / 11-3 Conference)
The Boilermakers finally hit a roadblock last week, when they saw their eight-game win streak came to an end with a 70-56 road loss to the Maryland Terrapins. It wasn’t a big letdown for Purdue, though, considering that the Terps were ranked N0. 24 at the time of that meeting. Purdue did bounce back immediately, too, by beating the Penn State Nittany Lions at home last Saturday, 76-64. Up against Nebraska this weekend, Purdue will draw confidence from th fact that it had already beaten the Cornhuskers before, taking down Nebraska on Feb.9 at home, 81-62. In that game, Boilermakers guard Carsen Edwards flexed his muscle and showed the Cornhuskers why he’s arguably the best player in the Big Ten right now. Edwards dropped 27 points on Nebraska on 8-for-16 shooting from the field. While he went just 2-for-9 from deep, the Boilermakers went 8-for-20 from distance as a team. Purdue is third in the conference with 77.8 points per game but is tops in the Big Ten in terms of offensive efficiency per KenPom.
Purdue is 5-1 straight up (SU) and 4-2 against the spread (ATS) in its last six meetings with Nebraska.
Betting on the Nebraska Cornhuskers (15-11 Overall / 5-10 Conference)
Conference play has been a disastrous affair for the Cornhuskers, who recently had a seven-game losing streak that only ended with a 62-61 home win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Feb. 13. That was followed by another win, as Nebraska took down the Northwestern Wildcats in Lincoln, 59-50. While those pair of wins were against sub-50 NET teams, it still showed that the Cornhuskers have plenty of fight in them. They showed that in the first half of their lopsided loss to Purdue earlier this month, as they were only behind by two points at the half before getting outscored by 17 points in the final 20 minutes of the contest. Nebraska builds on its defense that relies on its players’ stinginess. The Cornhuskers are third in the conference with 7.3 steals per game. They are also very good in protecting the leather, as they turn the ball over just 10.1 times per game — 11th fewest in the nation.
The under is 6-0 in the Cornhuskers’ last six games as the home team.
Writer’s Prediction
Purdue wins, 72-70.
