Can Johnny Cueto help the Giants stop their bleeding? This is definitely looking like not the year for San Francisco, which is currently in the bottom of the National League West division and is on a six-game losing streak.

It’s a letdown for the Giants to go on a losing binge like this when their offense appears to be showing some signs of life, having scored at least five runs in three of their last four games.

Cueto is coming off a forgettable start, surrendering five earned runs on 10 hits in just 5.2 innings of a 7-2 loss at home to Kansas City on June 14. He’s 5-6 on the year with a 4.57 ERA.

Joe Panik and Austin Slate are providing much of the firepower on offense for the Giants lately. Panik is 9-for-18 (.500) in his last four games, while Slater is 12-for-24 (.500) with six RBI in his last six.

The Giants are 7-3 in their last 10 games in Atlanta.

Betting on the Atlanta Braves (31-37)

Moneyline: +127

R.A. Dickey is 42-years-old and he looked every bit like an old man on the mound in his last start, as he was absolutely rocked by the Nationals in a 10-5 road loss on June 13. Dickey was tagged with eight earned runs by the Nats on eight hits, including three homers, in five innings.

Still, Dickey is capable of flashing brilliance from time to time like when he sonned the Phillies on June 8, allowing just an earned run on three hits in seven innings of a 3-1 home win. Dickey is 4-5 with a 5.35 ERA in 13 starts this year.

The Braves’ hitters have been hot in the last two games, outscoring the Marlins, 13-11 in that stretch. Matt Kemp, who has seen a lot of Cueto’s stuff in his career, is 12-for-34 with three home runs against the Giants’ ace.

The under is 8-2 in Atlanta’s last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction
