Betting on the Edmonton Eskimos (3-3)

The Roughriders dropped to a record of 3-3 after absorbing yet another loss last week, falling prey to Calgary at home to the tune of a 34-22 score. Saskatchewan isn’t among one of the best in moving the chains through the air and it showed in the Calgary Stampeders game, as quarterback Brandon Bridge completed just 19 of his 29 pass attempts for a mere 147 passing yards. So far this season, the Roughriders are last in the CFL with only 1,147 passing yards. Saskatchewan, however, continues to flash brilliance in the backfield, as the team put up 100 rushing yards against just 55 by Calgary. The Roughriders are second in the league with 733 rushing yards.

They are also 4-1 in their last five games against Edmonton and 6-2 SU in their last games away from home.

Betting on the Edmonton Eskimos (4-2)

For the first time this season, Edmonton managed to stitch consecutive wins together after trouncing the Montreal Alouettes last week, 44-23. Montreal got a quick 7-0 lead early in the game, but once quarterback Mike Reilly and the Eskimos air attack got going, there was barely anything the Alouettes could do to stop Edmonton from taking over the game. Reilly was sensational from the pocket, passing for 415 yards with four touchdowns and zero interceptions on 24-for-32 pass completions. Wide receiver D’haquille Williams added to his league leading totals in receiving yards and touchdown receptions by turning four catches into 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Montreal. Edmonton is tops in the league in passing yards with 2,063. Defensively, Edmonton should pose plenty of headaches for Saskatchewan, as the Eskimos are second in the league with 17 sacks.

Edmonton is 5-1 SU in its last six home games against Saskatchewan.

Writer’s Prediction

Edmonton wins, 35-21.
