Betting on the South Carolina Gamecocks (15-14)

Sure, the Gamecocks are not a good bet to make it to the Big Dance, but as far as this game is concerned, no one should be sleeping on them. After all, they have already stunned Auburn before in an 85-74 at home on Feb. 17. The Gamecocks are known for their defense, and they introduced it in that game to Auburn, which converted just 31.7 percent of their shots while also committing a whopping total of 16 turnovers. The pesky Gamecocks regularly do that to their opponents, as they force 14.9 turnovers per game. Thus far this season, South Carolina is allowing 68.8 points per game.

The Gamecocks are have won five of their last 10 road games against Auburn. They are also 5-5 against the spread (ATS) in those outings.

Betting on the vs Auburn Tigers (24-5)

Auburn’s earlier loss to the Gamecocks did not damage its chances of getting an at-large berth for the national tournament, but the Tigers will nonetheless be motivated in the rematch. That loss left a bitter taste in their mouth, particularly because the Tigers know they are a more capable offensive team than the one that showed up in Columbia. The Tigers are 10th nationally with a total average of 84.3 points per game. They are also 24th in the NCAA in three-pointers with 9.9 triples per contest. They have five players with at least 25 three-pointers this season, including leading scorer Mustapha Heron, who is averaging 16.3 points per game. Heron scored 16 points in the loss to South Carolina, but Bryce Brown shot 3-for-12 from the field for 10 points. Brown is a marked man by the Gamecocks, as he is among the SEC’s top outside shooters with 92 threes under his name.

Auburn is 9-1 straight up (SU) and 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games as the home team.
