The Texas A&M Aggies are barely hanging on the AP Poll Top 25 rankings, but they are definitely going to get eased off it if they lose this weekend to the Auburn Tigers. Will the Aggies recover from last week’s upset loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs? Or will the Tigers compound Texas A&M’s late-season problems?

Betting on the Texas A&M Aggies (5-3 Overall / 3-2 Conference)
The Aggies took a big blow to the gut last weekend, as they were upset by the Mississippi State Bulldogs on the road, 28-13. If anything, at least they are still inside the Top 25 AP Poll rankings. Whatever respect the Aggies got by keeping in step with Clemson and Alabama (relatively speaking), it’s probably out of the window now. Having said that, the Aggies can restore some of their lost pride by venting their frustration on Auburn, though, that’s going to be easier said than done given the quality of the Tigers’ stop unit. Against the Bulldogs, Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond had 232 passing yards and a touchdown with an interception. He’s going to need more support from the Aggies’ backfield after the team generated a paltry total of 61 rushing yards against Mississippi State. The Aggies are averaging 25.7 points and over 420 total yards per contest.
The Aggies are 2-1 ATS in their last three road games.
Betting on the Auburn Tigers (5-3 Overall / 2-3 Conference)
The Tigers finally got back in the win column. After suffering back-to-back losses to the Mississippi State and Tennessee, Auburn snapped their skid by downing the Ole Miss Rebels last Sunday, 31-16. The Tigers’ defense which was a bit missing in the previous couple of weeks returned to form in the Ole Miss game. Auburn allowed 447 total yards to the Rebels but held its opponents to only 6-for-17 third-down conversion. Auburn’s defense is 17th in the nation with just 17.6 points allowed per game. Tigers linebacker Deshaun Davis had 13 tackles against Ole Miss, while defensive lineman Nick Coe had three sacks. Auburn is expected to create constant pressure on Mond in the pocket, as the Tigers are second in the SEC with 24.0 total sacks so far this season.
The under is 3-1 in Auburn’s last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Texas A&M wins, 27-24.
