Texas Rangers vs. Oakland Athletics Betting Preview and Prediction

Where: O.co Coliseum, Oakland, California

When: June 17, 10:05 PM ET

Line: Texas Rangers (-110) at Oakland Athletics (EVEN); total 7.0view all MLB lines

Betting on Texas Rangers

The Rangers’ offense scored plenty of runs Monday night at Oakland.

[sc:MLB240banner ]Rangers batters had the night of their lives as Donnie Murphy hit two homers. Michael Choice and Robinson Chirinos also each hit a homer to contribute to their 14-8 win over the A’s. Come Tuesday night, they’ll have another chance at another dominant performance.

This time around, they’ll face a pitcher who they’ve had previous success batting against, in Tommy Milone. The Rangers have won their last three of five games when Oakland started with Milone.

The Rangers are starting Yu Darvish (7-2, 2.11 ERA). The Rangers are 6-0 in Darvish’s last six road starts, but the pitcher has struggled against the batting of the A’s. In his career, Darvish has become a victim to some of the A’s best hitters, giving up eight home runs.

Betting on Oakland Athletics

The Athletics will be starting Milone (4-3, 3.47 ERA) Tuesday night. The pitcher has only allowed a total of seven earned runs while striking out 16 in his last five starts, all of which were in games won by Oakland. The Athletics are 7-1 in their last eight games following a loss.

Tommy Milone

The Rangers were not the only ones who batted well on Monday, with Oakland’s  Yoenis Cespedes and Brandon Moss each coming up with a homer. Coco Crisp also hit 3-for-5, and scored two runs on his own.

The trio of Athletics batters has hit a collective 17-for-53 with six homers against the Rangers’ Darvish. Oakland has the best hitting in the majors with an average of .251 and has currently scored the most runs at 359. Oakland offense will be very hard to contain, and it will take a very special pitcher to get past them.

The A’s are 0-4 against Rangers in last four games at O.co Coliseum.

Writer’s Prediction
