Malcolm Brogdon is a man on a mission. The senior guard added another sensational performance into his season during the Virginia Cavaliers’ 79-74 triumph over North Carolina on Saturday night.

Brogdon, who is averaging a team-high of 18.5 points and 4.3 rebounds, dropped 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting and grabbed six boards with three dimes to lead the attack for the Cavaliers. And with that output, he’s now managed to put up 22 or more points in the previous three contests. Virginia went 2-1 SU and ATS in that short stretch.

Expect Brogdon to stay aggressive when the fourth-ranked Cavaliers lock horns with their conference rival Clemson Tigers for the second and final time this season. In their first meeting, Brogdon finished with 20 points along with three rebounds and four assists to lead the Cavaliers to the 69-62 win. He’ll be trying to break through a Clemson defense that’s only giving up 57.8 points at home.

Apart from him, Anthony Gill and London Perrantes should be able to provide valuable buckets opposite a Clemson defense that’s yielding almost 70 points per game in its last three contests. On the season, both are tallying 13.6 and 11.3 points, respectively.

Virginia is 5-5 SU and 4-6 ATS in its past 10 road games.

Virginia vs Clemson Basketball Predictions and Preview – March 1, 2016

A week off might just be what the Clemson Tigers need to finally get their heads together. They enter this matchup with the No. 4 Virginia Cavaliers as losers of back-to-back games to North Carolina State and Georgia Tech.

In the latter game, the Tigers’ defense was simply horrible, as it allowed the Yellow Jackets to rally back from a 13-point second-half deficit and eventually win the game in the end, 75-73. It was Marcus Georges-Hunt who led the way for Georgia Tech with 25 points.

Despite the loss, the Tigers can take comfort on the fact that their top-scorer in Jaron Blossomgame (18.3 PPG) provided a solid performance of 22 points, three boards and two dimes while going 9-of-19 from the field. He’ll now have to test his luck versus a Virginia defense that’s only allowing 60.2 points, which is the third-lowest in the nation.

On defense, meanwhile, the Tigers will likely have their hands full in stopping Malcolm Brogdon, who is averaging 21.2 points on 54.6 shooting in his past five games, from finding his groove offensively.

Clemson, which is surrendering 64.2 points this season, is 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in its previous five contests at home.
