Betting on the Virginia Tech Hokies 7-2 (-3)
The Virginia Tech Hokies have had a pretty nice season so far this year, but took a big step back in their last game. They took on the Miami Hurricanes and could basically wrap up a spot in the ACC championship game with a win, but the offense really struggled and that led to a 28-10 defeat.
Now they still have a lot to play for, but it seems the chance at an ACC Championship showdown and any chance at the college football playoff are out of the picture.
This a big game though for them, and they really need a big bounce back game. They can’t keep thinking about the last game, or that one loss could turn into two or three losses.
To win this game they need Freshman quarterback Josh Jackson to have a bounce back game. Against the Hurricanes he only threw for 197 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions.
They also need to find a way to slow down the Yellow Jackets triple options that seems to cause a lot of teams issues.
Betting on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 4-4 (+3)
On the other side of this match up is the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets who had a nice start to the season, but come into this game struggling having lost three of the last four games.
In their last game against the Virginia Cavaliers they came in as 7.5 point favorites, but the defense really struggled and that led to a 40-36 defeat.
The offense hasn’t been an issue this year, but the issues have come on the defensive side for most of the year. They are giving up 23.6 points per game, but in big games the defense forgets to seem how to play.
In this game the defense needs to make Josh Jackson turn over the ball. The defense really needs to step it up, or it could be another long afternoon of football.
Writer’s Prediction
I am shocked to not see this line be a little more spread out. I think the Hokies will turn around their season in this game. The Yellow Jackets defense will struggle and that will lead to a win and a cover of the spread by the Hokies. Pick: Virginia Tech (-3)
