Washington’s injury problems are mounting. The Football Team have already lost tight end Logan Thomas for the rest of the season due to a torn ACL then they saw wide receiver Terry McLaurin exit last Sunday’s 27-20 home loss to the Dallas Cowboys with a concussion, the same issue that has sidelined running back JD McKissic in the last two Washington games. Still, the Football Team can bite. Their loss to Dallas was the team’s first in five games. Taylor Heinicke had a subpar performance against the Cowboys, as he only passed for 122 yards and a touchdown with an interception on 11/25 completions, but he can find more success against the Eagles’ stop unit. Philly is third-worst in the NFL with an opponents’ completion rate of 70.44 percent. On the season.
Washington is 4-1 against the spread in its last 5 games as an underdog.
Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (-7)
Regular Season Record: 6-7
The Gardner Minshew craze in the City of Brotherly Love will have to die down a bit, as Jalen Hurts will be back to start for the Eagles in Week 15. Hurts was sidelined in Week 13’s 33-18 road win over the New York Jets due to an ankle problem but a bye in Week 14 appears to have been enough for him to fully recover from the injury. Although Minshew performed well in the Jets game, the Eagles’ offense is more dynamic when the dual-threat Hurts is under center for the team. The Eagles are 12th in the NFL with 25.9 points per game and no. 1 overall with 160.0 rushing yards per game. Washington’s defense is banged up and could miss a few key pieces in Week 15, so there’s a real opportunity for the Eagles’ attack to fly higher than usual in this upcoming contest. Defensively, Philly will look to take advantage of Washington’s offensive line that is without its top three centers.
The Eagles are 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 games as a favorite.
Writer’s Prediction
The Eagles win, 24-20.
