Betting on the Washington Huskies (8-0, 5-0 conf.)

The Washington Huskies have been one of the best stories of the season. Out in the Pacific Northwest, you’re not noticed unless you’re really good. Think about it, the Sonics always flew under the radar until Shawn Kemp won the dunk contest and Gary Payton helped take them to the ’94 final. The Seahawks were a laughing stock for years until Russel Wilson brought them to the promise land. It’s a very underrated part of the US of A. Let’s talk Huskies now.

These guys are number four in the country for a reason. They are an absolute wrecking crew and this game will likely end with another lopsided scoreboard. Led by sophomore quarterback Jake Browning, they are the fourth-ranked offense in the country for points per game with 46.1, while their defense leads the country in fumbles recovered with 12. Browning is also fourth in our Heisman Trophy ranks at +1,800 due to his conference leading QB Rating (195.6), yards (2926) and percentage (72.6%).

On the ground, Myles Gaskin has led the way for Washington and leads the Pac-12 in yards with ease at 878. He also sits fourth in conference touchdowns with 7. So either way you slice it, the 2016 Washington Huskies are one heck of a football team.

The Huskies may be undefeated but are 4-4 ATS this season.

Betting on the California Golden Bears (4-4, 2-3 conf.)

The Golden Bears are coming into this game off a 45-24 humiliation at the hands of the up and down USC Trojans last Thursday. Quarterback Davis Webb did his absolute best tossing for 333 yards and two touchdowns. Webb certainly hasn’t been the issue for the Golden Bears this season. In fact, he’s probably been the reason that they’ve been keeping their head above water thus far. He is first in the conference in touchdowns with 29 and second in passing yards with 2914.

While Khalfani Muhammad could only muster 89 yards last game, he did enter that last contest with two mammoth games. He put up 165 yards and a major on October 8th against Oregon State and 148 yards on the 21st while hosting Oregon. The problem with Muhammad and the run game is their lack of touchdowns. KM has only managed two this season, while backup back Tre Watson has also only mustered up a pair.

They’re going to need their run game to show up in a bad way or this team is just another piece of Pac-12 fresh meat for the Purple Reign.

California is also 4-4 ATS, but they’ve also been playing as underdogs for the majority of the year.

Writer’s Prediction

Washington destroys the Golden Bears 62-12.
