Betting on the Wofford Terriers (5-2 Overall / 4-1 Conference)

After two losses to start the season, Wofford found its groove and hasn’t looked back since, as the Terriers are brining a five-game winning streak to their matchup against the defending national champions this coming weekend. In their last game, the Terriers beat Chattanooga by the skin of their teeth at home, 35-34 (overtime). Wofford quarterback Joe Newman passed for 134 yards on 14-of-23 completions, but he did most of this damage on the ground, rushing for 66 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries. Aside from being the facilitator of their passing attack, Newman is also his team’s best rusher. He has 769 rushing yards on the season to go with 11 scores. The Terriers like to run the ball and, in fact, are second in the FCS with 2,544 rushing yards on the season. Travis Etienne is going to be a handful for Wofford, but the Terriers take pride in their defense that has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards in the FCS.

Betting on the Clemson Tigers (8-0 Overall / 6-0 Conference)

As expected, the Tigers demolished the Boston College Eagles last Saturday at home, 59-7. As what the story of the score tells, the Tigers were dominant on both ends of the field. Trevor Lawrence, for the first time in three games, didn’t throw an interception and finished with 275 passing yards and three touchdowns on 16-of-19 completions. Meanwhile, running back Travis Etienne mocked Boston Eagles’ defense with an electrifying performance, coming up with 109 rushing yards and three scores on 16 carries. The Tigers are too strong of a team to get matched with an an FCS team like Wofford. All things considered, it’s not hard to convince anyone that Clemson is going to steamroll past the Terriers, who barely got past the Chattanooga Moc last week.

The Tigers are 3-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last three games.

Writer’s Prediction

Clemson wins, 52-9.
