Betting on the Indiana Hoosiers (ODDS)
Record: 17-7 Overall/8-5 Conference
Indiana is looking like a team on a mission of late. Following the Hoosiers’ huge takedown of the Purdue Boilermakers on Feb. 4 at home, 79-74, they scored a revenge 66-60 victory, also in Bloomington, last Tuesday against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, which gave Indiana its first loss of the season back in December. Once again, Trayce Jackson-Davis starred for Indiana, as he collected 20 points to go with 18 rebounds in 39 minutes of play versus Rutgers. Don’t sleep on freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, though. He is another future NBA talent on the team, and he’s showing that with his excellent playmaking abilities.
Indiana is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 games.
Betting on the Michigan Wolverines (ODDS)
Record: 14-10 Overall/8-5 Conference
Michigan is gaining steam, as the Wolverines extended their win streak to three games by thumping the Nebraska Cornhuskers at home on Wednesday, 93-72. Prior to that, the Wolverines beat the Northwestern Wildcats on the road on Feb. 2, 68-51, and then the Ohio State Buckeyes in Ann Arbor last Sunday, 77-69. Michigan’s offense can be deceptively great. It is third in the Big Ten with 108.8 points per 100 possessions adjusted and third also in the conference with a 52.8 effective field goal percentage. The team’s size could also be a problem for Indiana’s Jackson-Davis, as the Wolverines are 23rd in the nation in average height. On the roster is 7-1 Hunter Dickinson, who is leading the Wolverines with 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
Michigan is 3-0-1 in its last four games.
Writer’s Prediction
Michigan wins, 72-71.
