Betting on Swansea City (+575)

Things are going from bad to worse for manager Francesco Guidolin. After grabbing just a single victory in his opening five league matches, the Italian saw his side crash out of the EFL Cup with a 2-1 loss to Manchester City. It won’t get any easier for Swansea this coming Saturday as they will face City once again in an immediate Premier League rematch. The Swans are winless in their last eight league meetings against the Citizens.

For Swansea to record a major upset this coming weekend, they will need to improve on their ball possession. The Swans only had 40 percent of the possession in Wednesday’s loss to City. As a result, they were outshot by the Manchester outfit, 9-7. Swansea will need to bring all their attacking flair if they are to grab that shock result against Manchester City this time around. The onus then is on Fernando Llorente to inject some life to the Swans’ offense. The 33-year-old has yet to open his goal-scoring account this campaign.

Betting on Manchester City (-290)

Manchester City maintained their perfect record in the league with a resounding 4-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday. Kevin de Bruyne, Kelechi Iheanacho, Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan scored the winning goals for the Citizens, who moved to the top of the Premier League table with 15 points to their name.

Much of the credit for the Citizens’ perfect start must be given to new manager Pep Guardiola. His offensive tactics have re-energized a City side that has won its first nine games of the season in all competitions. They are the first English top-flight team to achieve this feat since Chelsea back in 2005-06. The Citizens lead the Premier League in scoring with 15 goals to their name this season.

One guy who has benefited immensely from Guardiola’s arrival is Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian midfielder was involved in all of City’s goals against Bournemouth. To further illustrate his value to City, De Bruyne has had a hand in 34 goals in his 48 appearances for the league leaders in all competitions. The sky’s definitely the limit for the 25-year-old who’s clearly relishing playing in the second striker position this season. De Bruyne has scored two goals in the league thus far this campaign.

Writer’s Prediction

Manchester City (-290) edge past Swansea City, 2-1.
